Empowering self-awareness and personal mastery through proven methods
Our trauma therapy sessions are designed to help clients heal from the effects of trauma, such as PTSD, childhood abuse, and sexual assault. We use evidence-based treatments, Trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, to help clients process their trauma and develop coping skills to manage symptoms aa well as guided meditation, hypnotherapy and Chakra balancing.
Our grief and loss sessions help clients process the emotional pain of losing a loved one or experiencing other significant losses. We provide clients with a supportive and compassionate space to express their feelings and work through the grieving process.
Our cultural identity sessions help clients explore their cultural identity and its impact on their mental health and well-being. We help clients understand the ways in which their cultural background shapes their beliefs and values, and work with them to develop strategies to manage cultural stressors and build resilience.
• My specialization revolves around self-awareness and personal mastery, self-sufficiency and healthy attachments, as well as universal compassion for self and other. Clinically, the tools we use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). CBT is the premier method for alleviating anxiety, depression, anger, and insomnia. Solution oriented and clinically tested treatments using CBT help clients develop coping skills, self and environmental awareness, and improved problem-solving skills. DBT works for more severe cognitive problems related to emotional instability, impulse control, and the resulting interpersonal traumas that stem from it. Mood regulation and self-efficacy are treatment goals of DBT. ACT clinically identifies debilitating fears and low-self-esteem that manifest from incongruent values and life purpose. We use mindfulness strategies and behavioral modification to identify authentic values within clients, so that they may then work towards realizing these values in their lives. Overall, my therapeutic approach has spiritual values.
• My theoretical orientation, strongly influenced by humanistic and existential psychology, guides my work with clients and supports the achievement of therapeutic goals. I believe that individuals develop their personalities in the service of meaningful and positive aims, and that human beings are born with innate capacities, potentialities, and a natural tendency toward growth. From this perspective, healing is promoted through increased emotional and psychological awareness, which allows individuals to experience life more fully, authentically, and as an integrated whole.
